"Comprehensive off-season and in-season strength and conditioning is a key component in the success of all athletes and teams. A commitment to strength and conditioning, along with proper nutrition and rest, will reduce an athlete's chance of injury, stimulate positive physiological adaptations, and develop a level of physical and mental toughness that can be acquired in no other way. For these reasons, making an individual and team commitment to strength and conditioning is a necessary and powerful step toward success in athletic competition."
